Not only Hiroto calls Quintilis out for his misinformation that was stem from his exaggerated hostility against the vampires, he also demands him to tell him the truth as he suspect that the official is hiding a secret from him. Even after informing Hiroto and Excelis about Gezerkia and her attack on Olsia, Quintilis insists that the vampires are enemies and even accuses the former for keeping these "animals" at his side, only for Hiroto castigates him[Notes 1] [Notes 2] for insulting Zeldis while unable to see the similarities between humans and vampires. Still, Quintilis continues as he worries that Zeldis may "aid" Gezerkia to attack Salabria but Hiroto replies that this is why the vampire sisters are needed since Salabria has garnered Zeldis's trust by promoting his daughters as counseling officers, not to mention that this incident will spread across Hybride regardless. Therefore, Hiroto advises Quintilis to apologize because it only prompts the Salabria Vampires to break away from Salabria due to his insult [Notes 3], which the official relents. As Quintilis congratulates him for being the new Governor of Salabria, Hiroto smiles and tells him that he is looking forward to see their cooperation, much to Excelis's amazement to witnessing the Diferente's success to persuade even an Administrative Official to trust Salabria Vampires.

Josyu 05 243

Gezerkia confronts a charging Curele.

Suddenly, Hiroto orders Sōichiro and others to cover their ears and before Gezerkia can even react, Curele charges towards her and blows everyone (except Hiroto and co.) away. Gezerkia is so appalled to see the destruction made by Curele that she tries to avoid her by flying midair, only be blown to the wall and suffers severe injuries. Hiroto and others then use this as their escape and Gezerkia herself is thrown by Zeldis to midair before she can even chase her targets. However despite her injuries as well as her injured comrades, Gezerkia wobbles her flight towards Az Castle [Notes 4] and whistles for reinforcement to stop her targets from reaching the main road road. To her shock and awe, Curele reappears and beats her allies effortlessly and just as she is struggling to leave, Curele attacks her again by blow the Red-Winged Vampire to the ground that knock her unconscious.

Meanwhile, Salabria Alliance leaves Zeldis to arrange their counterattack after their meeting with Baldos. Back to Hiroto, whose brief victory over Gezerkia shocks both Quintilis and Gundogan, he begins his next phase by ordering Slara to inform both Nolte and Secondaria about the Red-Wing Vampires' would-be retaliation while he writes a letter after receiving the first 2 letters from her. Gezerkia, meanwhile, wakes up from her recovery and when she realizes that her last opponent was one of Zeldis' daughter, she dispatches 40 vampires (notably Uruk and Oribe) to attack Nolte and Secondaria separately in order to avenge her defeat, just as Hiroto predicted. Unfortunately for the Red-Winged Vampires, both Nolte and Secondaria are fully prepared courtesy to Slara's messages and manage to repel them under different circumstances: Guichet's team is ambushed by Nolte's skeleton army when trying to attack Slara and they have to retreat when confronting Baldos and Salabria Vampires, while others also flees after Secondaria's Elven Soldiers shoots volley of arrows at them.

Gezerkia is so infuriated by this result that she grits her teeth with frustration until she reads 3 letters from Hiroto-one of which is his proposal letter for a negotiation to end this battle. Intrigued by his caliber that outfoxed her, she laughs and realizes that the Diferente has been aiming for negotiation from the beginning and seemly begin[Notes 5] to understand why Valkyria (and even herself) likes him. So, she cancels her attack onto Chrissis Castle[Notes 6] and accepts his proposal and participate this negotiation.

Therefore, Hiroto suggest Gezerkia to sign a peace treaty with Olsia's 4 castle lords a truce[Notes 9].Feeling skeptical about the treaty at first, Gezerkia replies that she "refuses" to leave but shaking Hiroto's hands, implying the negotiation's success. Trivia

Notes

  1. Due to his experience in witnessing Solum's ordeal with the vampires before his prior his rise as a castle lord, Hiroto somewhat understood Quintilis's story but while he concluded that Hybride's prejudice and discrimination against the vampires persists even now, he still thinks that Quintilis and others are wrong for their misunderstanding about the vampire clans since both Zeldis and Gezerkia were different despite they both are vampires, considering the Air Carriage's popularity has just changed the humans's perspective towards the vampires not too long ago. In fact, Hiroto angers stem from Quintilis's ongoing misunderstanding about the vampires while refuses to get help from Zeldis despite he explains that this is exactly why Valkyria and Curele are needed to fend off the other vampire clan.
  2. In a strategy to combat Gezerkia and her clan, unlike Quintilis who keep thinking that a vampires as "evil", Hiroto will going to need the help of Valkyria and Curele to actually dispel the ongoing misunderstanding between humans and vampires.
  3. Apart from angering Zeldis to the point breaking his clan's alliance with Salabria, Hiroto also warns Quintilis that the worst thing could happen is that the vampires' hostility towards people outside Salabria worsen so long both humans and vampires coexist in Salabria. Therefore, an apology is needed because it at least minimizing the damage he inflicted to Salabria and the vampires.
  4. According to Gezerkia, Az Castle was the nearest place where she could've catch up with Hiroto.
  5. Once again, Gezerkia refuses to accept Hiroto's proposal because of him being a human and doesn't plan to retreat even if one of these letters are from the elves-someone not even she will cross. The only reason for her to change her mind is because of her fresh experience with her encounter with Hiroto.
  6. Initially, one of Gezerkia's underling asks if they will continue to attack Chrissis Gezerkia berates him that so long they try to cross Hiroto, the Vampire Rebel Army will make everyone dangerous enemy, especially Zeldis and his clan.
  7. The reason of the Hiroto's mumbling is because the Diferente himself cannot interfere the affairs of Orsia since he is Salabria's Governor. The truth behind reveals that Hiroto is trying to save Gezerkia from 1,000 strong Emperia Imperial Army-including elven archers-that will instantly annihilate her if she confront them, knowing full well that she will not backing down despite her disadvantages. This is also part of Hiroto's care for Gezerkia too for viewing her death by the army will be wasteful since all she did was fighting for her clan
  8. According to Hiroto, a healthy town require supplies to be functional for all residents but Gezerkia and other vampires, for all their purposes of ensuring their survival, never even considered the repercussion to the town they conquered with iron fist. Not only it would starve both vampires and humans alike for transforming the towns as inhabitable wasteland, mostly because merchants will unlikely dropping by to replenish the depleting supplies, mostly out of fear to the vampires.
  9. According to the suggestion Hiroto, Olsia castle lords promised to cancel their Development Order and give up reclaiming Gezerkia's forest, with a condition that the Red-Winged Vampire leave Olsina's town. Due to her cynicism to the humans, she sarcastically remarks the peace treaty at first as untrustworthy but ends up think harder when Hiroto reminds her that people (humans, in particular) are too scared to break promises to her after her takeover onto both Sieuras and Az.
